Florida Sands

I'm beginning a series of seascapes. This painting is one that has helped get me back into the "groove" of painting. It was easy enough to get the paint on the canvas without having to struggle with detail. I'm trying to loosen up... And loving the sea and it surrounding views helps to inspire.

Anchored

This is an 8 x 6 Ray Mar canvas panel. It was my entry back into getting paint on a canvas. Although it is naive, I did it! And I've been painting since.

Shelling on St. Croix

Shelling on St. Croix at Great Pond Bay. I painted this from an old 1981 photograph. I usually dread doing rocks and stones... which was the case this time, but somehow, I feel like I got them.

This painting is oil on gallery wrap 12x12.

Hawksnest Bay - Father and Daughter

This is a painting from a photo that was taken about 15 years ago. It is of my husband, Kerry (Ked) and daughter, Ashley. The joy I experienced 15 years ago on that vacation to St. John, US VIrgin Islands was relived as I painted. I still look at it and remember the experience.

They say "you can't go back." But maybe you can if you are an artist.

Building Sand Castles - The first of a new blog

This painting was painted after a great vacation with my long time friend and her daughters and granddaughter. Sabre (the granddaughter) loved this painting of her and has proudly hung it in her room (the best compliment ever).
